[EXCITING NEWS! We are in the process of moving the lion’s share of Broomhill’s remaining sculpture collection to a new location in North Devon. A new sculpture trail will be announced in the near future (e.g. in time for this tourist season). As a result, we have stopped the selling process for the remaining works. We thank you for the interest and support, and look forward to seeing you in a new location in the near future!]
Friends,
We’ve gone virtual, welcome to our new website!
Broomhill Estate, as a physical location, has ceased trading. Currently, it is not possible to make bookings for the art hotel, sculpture gardens, terrace café, or Canvas restaurant. When the property reopens, it will be under different ownership.
We’ve now taken the opportunity to re-purpose the Broomhill website and convert it into a lasting showcase honouring all the good work done at Broomhill over the years. Broomhill has been an important part of the fabric of North Devon for many years (more than 70 for the hotel and 25 for the sculpture gardens).
For starters, we’ve catalogued all the historical finalists of the National Sculpture Prize, with updates and more works to be added as we become aware of them.
We would like to provide a platform to the community that supported Broomhill over the years. Please send along any photos, memories, stories or likewise. In particular, we would love to hear updates about works that have found a life after Broomhill, especially if they are in the public domain and viewable.
We’ll use this site to promote and sell art, sculpture, memorabilia and products related to our time at Broomhill. As an exciting example, we’re debuting a new exhibition for you, “Art inspiring Art” a photography exhibition capturing the relationship between ballet and sculpture, featuring iconic works in the gardens, in collaboration with a long-time friend of Broomhill, photographer Ken Gascoigne. All of the exhibition prints are available for purchase.
We’ve now passed the (physical) torch for Broomhill. We want to express sincere gratitude for the historical support for Broomhill, as well as the service provided to us by our staff. We are very proud of all the great works displayed at Broomhill and want to memorialise them as best we can, for the good people of North Devon, and for the arts community in the UK and beyond.
Warm Regards, AFK3 & Mic
